Anyone familiar with the Road Fools Series or Animal is likely to know the name Lino Gonzales and the brand he started last year, 90East. A grassroots style, local scene based company, 90East is creating a strong presence on the east coast, and making a mark with positive and original creativity, through videos, events, and product.
Carlos Rohena rail to gap. Carlos hails from the Great Brook Valley section of Worcester, Mass and can pretty much ride anything in front of him with ease.
Lee Hopkins smith grind. Lee moved down to Jamaica Plain from New Hampshire last year and has been sessioning the city of Boston and searching out its finest spots ever since.
We asked Lino about the inception of 90East and this is what he had to say:
“… As for the company, 90East just started as a group of friends. We had the idea to make a video then decided to step it up and make products for people that can relate to how we do things. As time goes on we plan to expand our product selection as well as do local events. We are all inspired by the history of the local scenes and have a certain love for our cities.
I don’t really know what else to say, I like to let things speak for themselves I guess haha.”
Mike Penney tooth to smith. Mike is really all about having a good time cruising around and it shows in his riding.
90East has a new video due out in April, it has parts from (in order) Abdul Fofanah, Jake Frost, Mike Penney, Carlos Rohena, me, New England mix section, Harold Harwood, Jake Gayewski, Jesse Williams, and Lee Hopkins. its 25 minutes long, and there’s 25minutes worth of bonus footage including video parts/footage from 1999 till now of the crew.
