The Big Apple.

Roller blade Rodeo Clown, and honkey white snake! There is a lot going on in this photo...
I like New York, I grew up in and near the city in my early years, and spent many years in upstate NY, in between my gypsy adventures, and random dwellings throughout…
New York City however is such an overwhelming assault on my senses, and such a crazy fucking place, I can’t help but be put off, and enamored at the same time. The most recent example, is this amazing skatepark at Chelsea Piers, on the west side of Manhattan. It’s a beautifully designed and crafted wonderland of cement transitions and awesomeness, and of course its off limits to bikes. The fence surrounding the amusement is similar to that of an internment camp, or some kind of kind of prison, and the vibe is some kind of weird mix freedom, and regulation.
I enjoyed the park as an onlooker, watching people skate, and interact through some weird hierarchy of a shared space in a crowded city, then turned to watch the sun setting over the Hudson River, with Jersey Behind it, and a prison fence in the foreground.
New York City is like a cage with golden bars!

Jail? no Its a park...
