Sixty Nine Liquors

Interstate 69 (I-69) is an Interstate Highway in Indiana and Michigan, with some unfinished sections in Tennessee, and Mississippi, aiming for Mexico.
The first time I ever noticed it, was when I moved to Ft. Wayne in 1993, and travelled occasionally to Indianapolis to ride a skatepark run by a James Hetfield look alike, called 80′s rock.
Nothing really special about this stretch of road, except you pass through Fairmount Indiana (population less than 3000), where there is a Museum dedicated to the cartoon cat Garfield, and James Dean, both originally from Fairmount, where there are also randomly placed statues of each…
In a place like Indiana, which is fairly religious and allegedly run by the Klan at one point, I thought It was pretty funny to see a giant billboard on the side of the road that read- “69 Liquors”, so I pulled over and shot a picture of the storefront… Of course it was Sunday, so it was closed…

…after a pretty fun weekend in Indiana, constantly being reminded how weird it can be, Or how weird everyone was, mainly Reggie Styles actually, I ended up at the airport in Indianapolis, and immediately saw a book called Weird Indiana, and sat next to a guy with Foghorn Leghorn tattooed on his leg, while wearing flip flops.
