Post Apocalyptic Summer Vacation

Much of my summer was spent on the deck outside my apartment, with friends, BBQ-ing and pre heating to get weird...
Post Apocalyptic Summer Vacation. Also known as “weird summer”, the past couple of months have been wild. This season has been a rich mixture of introspection, positive mental attitude, and softly self destructive behavior. From quiet evenings at home, to epic nights on rooftops under beer soaked skies, and strange places beyond reason. In the rubble of a previous lifetimes normalcy, and just for kicks, we smiled, entertained each other, rode bikes, swam, motorcycled, camped, and built our own playground of absurdity. Some of the fun was captured by a loosely handled Nikon, and these are some of the digital snapshots of a few of the laughs my friends and I shared…. I am thankful for all these moments and more.
Much of the past few months have been spent behaving ridiculously, irreverent, entertaining myself, But My thoughts are with My best friend Mike who is struggling with a serious disease. Hang in there Bud, we are all pulling for you!

Babes, bikes, and orange ski masks? weird summer...

If you weren't traveling in a Limo this summer, you weren't livin... Kenny, Tom and Latane.

I thought summer was weird, then I thought , it's only gonna get weirder. White pants.

It was a hot summer, swimming was crucial. Rivers, Gorges, swimming pools...good fun.

Riding bikes is the MOST fun, I shot this one of Evan prior to what would become 6 shoulder injuries that sidelined people in our circle of friends.

If I had a good explanation for this one, I'd share it...

This happened soon after, it wasn't the most outrageous thing that happened that evening, Paul Micou, mid flight!

These are real cops. I usually avoid them at all costs, but this time I was in a movie with their help. Nice Guys. Random, and unique experience for sure, this summer was filled with them!,

This is my good friend Stew Johnson's middle finger, and a weird cowboy. We were driving around Indiana this day. I love my friends...

My Best friends and I, Hampden, Kelly Baker, Jeremy Reiss, Mark Johnson, and Mike Tag. We have all known each other over 20 years, and were together to help Mike in his battle against Lymphoma. This part of summer was more serious, but this day, we raised money and awareness on Mike's behalf, It felt good.

Guns, Homemade Bikinis, Inflatable tigers... Like I said, it's been weird.

3 dogs humping, in an abandoned building...

Shortstop in Ithaca Ny is a huge part of summer. Good food, open 24/7, and there is usually something weird happening while you hang out there... I love it!

I don't even really like guns...

I am not a gun enthusiast, but shotgunning beers with good friends is pretty awesome!

Beer muscles, beer goggles, Captain Fun and Christian Hewett...

My friend Kenny Horton is either a good or a bad influence on me...

Summer nights can be wild, but nights like these are my favorites, motorcycle camping trip on the bay...

This is my best friend Jeremy, aka Gilly Smalls, he's not really weird at all...

Sammy Hagar weekend? Nope, Adam and Tom Blyth with Kenny Horton!

well...

Have you ever tried drinking a beer upside down?

Moments prior to this snapshot, I crashed my BMX bike, separated my shoulder, bruised my ribs, and altered the landscape of my summer for at least 6 weeks...

I met these two in Connecticut on a monday afternoon. They were drunk, listening to rock and roll, weathered and very much alive!

Independence day...

Pat And Kenny!

All smiles....

Some nights while it was getting weird in the kitchen, women were puking off the balcony...

Actually, it didn't get weird, it got awesome!

These last 2 photos were shot Labor day, a few hours ago... The last day of civilian summer. Fires, bikes, Mayhem...

If I Keep heading the direction I'm Going, and keep smiling, I think we can stretch this summer out a little bit longer...
