What started as a trip to NYC, ended as a camping trip on Knotts Island NC, where our friend Jason lives, after returning from a bike ride to San Diego from the East Coast. On the trip he had met the man in charge of a colonial farm on the Island, who needed a caretaker. In exchange for help with the animals, and around the property, he stays for free in an old barn/ servant quarters from another time. The property however is right on the Currituck sound, and offers a nice escape from the distraction of the day to day, and was a nice way to spend a couple nights off the beaten path…
